This flag is constructed from Tibetan prayer flags. The flags forming the stripes are cut into sections and reconstructed to represent the stripes of Old Glory. Since Tibetan prayer flags come in four colors so the artist chose to use all of the colors. Tibetan prayer flags are often strung to blow free outside and strew blessings across the home or the countryside. They are traditionally printed with wood blocks. The stars are represented by the eyes of the Buddha often found on Stupas throughout Tibet. ©  2005
