This flag is constructed from traditional Japanese origami papers. Fifty carefully folded cranes represent the stars in the star field. The crane is the most well known of the ancient origami art form and it is made from folded paper. If you would like to try folding your own origami crane check out the instructions on this link. This original Japanese flag is beautifully framed in a black lacquer wood frame and under deep glass to protect the 3 dimensional folded cranes. © 2004 Sold This year for the Wang Center Exhibition a new Japanese flag was constructed.
