Javanese
This flag is made from traditional Javanese batik fabrics with Wayang puppet figures as part of the star field. These characters are from the Ramayana, an ancient sacred text, which is very popular and performed frequently by shadow puppets. The flag was a collaborative effort with my friend, Irina, from Jave who wanted a flag of her culture included in the collection and provided the materials for it.
