CYNTHIA-REEVES PROJECTS, in collaboration with the Newport Mill, present FABRICATIONS, a mixed media exhibition featuring work by 19 international, national and regional artists. The exhibition opens on Saturday, June 26 from 4 - 7pm. In acknowledgment of the building's history as a working mill, FABRICATIONS presents artworks using textiles in innovative, contemporary ways, and showcases projects that utilize weaving, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and spinning into unexpected forms and unusual materials. Among the many projects, viewers encounter a curtain of dried fallen oak leaves delicately strung on cotton thread and suspended from the ceiling by internationally acclaimed Korean artist JaeHyo Lee; a "lace" tapestry by Lee Renninger, upon closer inspection, reveals itself to be "woven" from discrete porcelain pieces held together by hemp thread; Claire Watkins brings a collection of threaded needles to life through the use of electromagnetic fields and simple circuit/motor systems. FABRICATIONS features work by: Elizabeth Billings, Michele Brody, Alisa Dworsky, Brenda Garand, Joan Giordano, Angela Hennessy, Carol Hepper, Danielle Julian Norton, William Dickey King, Milan Klic, JaeHyo Lee, Anne Lindberg, Soo Sunny Park, Lee Renninger, Jan Staller, Muriel Stockdale, Johnny Swing, Christine Tarkowski, and Claire Watkins. The Newport Mill is located at 169 Sunapee Street, Newport, New Hampshire. The exhibition's opening reception is Saturday, June 26th, from 4 - 7pm. Regular hours are Thursday - Saturday 11am - 5pm. FABRICATIONS runs through Saturday, September 25th. For further information about this event please contact Sara Mintz at 212.714.0044 or sara@cynthia-reeves.com.

Latest Blog Entry
It's been a long time since I wrote the last blog. So there's a lot to share. I am delighted the work is out there again for people to go and see it at LaGuardia 's Atrium Lobby Showcase Gallery East. There are three gorgeous glass cases in the lobby of the building and I have 8 flags in each of two cases and 4 in the center, including the new Mexican, Mali and Zaire American E Pluribus flags. The show will be up until January 30. Meanwhile the project is always in progress. Right now my Mum has almost completed embroidering the English American flag it is amazing with rows of Tudor roses and heraldic crowns.
